Apple 2019 Spring Event

Apple hosted an event on March 25th 2019, highlighting the new services they will be unveiling in the coming months. Here’s a recap of the four key products you can expect to see unfold:

  • For $12.99/Month (CA), Apple will provide curated access to hundreds of print magazines including Wall Street Journal, National Geographic, Rolling Stone, etc.
  • You can try free for one month.

  • Apple is introducing a new way to pay with their own credit card. The card appears to offer some promising features such as:
    • No Late Fees, Annual fees, Overlimit, or International Fees.
    • Cash back on Daily Spending of 1-3%.
    • An interest rate range of 13.24 percent to 24.24 percent depending on your qualifiers as of March 2019.
    • High Priority on Security and Privacy, with no identifiable information on the physical card aside from your name.
  • There can be a physical card, and is also stored electronically on your phone with a very user friendly and secure interface.

  • Apple’s gaming service that will give you access to over one hundred games, with more being added regularly.
  • No subscription price has been announced as of yet.

  • Apple TV Service has experienced some changes and upgrades. The App itself will give you a centralized location to view all of your existing subscription channels such as HBO, Amazon Prime Video, etc. Netflix will not be taking part in this service.
  • You still have to pay individual subscription memberships to each channel service directly, but instead of having to switch to different apps every time you want to watch something different, the Apple TV app will curate these for you.
  • Samsung, Sanyo, LG and Vizio Smart TV’s will receive the update the the Apple TV Apps so if you have one of these brands, you will have the updated version on your TV automatically.
  • Apple TV will also support streaming devices Roku and Amazon Fire TV.
  • Apple TV Plus will give access to Apples own in-house programming. They are introducing their own content, but no cost for the subscription has been announced as of yet.
